Happy holidays from everyone here at NetDragons.com. We'd like to thank all of the users that
have been with us over the whole year and all the new users that are visiting the site for the first
time. This year has been very interesting. With the release of the Dungeon of Dispair,
Vagabond's Quest has grown to be larger than anyone here ever
thought possible. And today, NetDragons.com announces the official release of
Vagabond's Realm!
Vagabond's Realm is a leap forward in the Vagabond's Quest series of role playing games.
While it uses the same RPG system as VQ, Vagabond's Realm adds a graphical world,
in real-time action, and improved player interaction. VRealm is a DirectX game written for
Windows 95/98/NT and is free to download and play (excluding your connection costs
to the Internet). While we are, currently, just in a limited beta, the game can still be played and
enjoyed.
To improve on Vagabond's Quest player interaction, everything in Vagabond's Realm can be done
with other players. This includes wandering around dungeons and teaming up against monsters.
VRealm also supports team vs. team combat and free-for-alls. Of course, you can still chat with
other players and maybe make some new friends. VRealm also supports official guilds, more
information on guilds will be available when the final product is released.
As we said earlier, Vagabond's Realm is in a limited beta. Anyone who whishes to experience the new game can
download the beta version and try it out. However, the server can only hold 40 people right
now (400+ will be allowed in the final version). The game is also not fully documented right now,
so only people that know Vagabond's Quest and feel comfortable trying Beta software should
actually download and try Vagabond's Realm. For those of you wondering if Vagabond's Quest+
is going away, the answer is no. We understand that not everyone will be able to play
Vagabond's Realm and because of this Vagabond's Quest+ will stay around.
We hope that 1999 has been a enjoyable year for all of you, and we look forward to making
2000 even more enjoyable.
Best wishes,
The NetDragons.com Team
